YouWriteOn.com, the UK's most popular Arts Council funded site for new writers, has teamed up for a unique partnership with independent publisher Legend Press to offer a bespoke service to fill the traditional gap between producing a book and making it a success. Legend Press was shortlisted in 2007 for the UK Young Publisher of the Year, and their achievements include having having one of their titles Salt & Honey by Candi Miller named as one of the 'Top Ten Books to Talk About on World Book Day' in 2008.
YouWriteOn & Legend Press books are available to order through all major online book retailers and bookstore ordering services in both the US and UK. View Publishing Packages
Too often self-published books, however good the quality of content, fall short as they are not laid-out or presented to a high enough industry standard, or are not promoted or sold into the right places. Legend Press will work with writers to provide professionally typeset books that will be approved by the industry, carefully set with expertise as opposed to some generic 'DIY Publishing' systems, as well as use of its top-quality cover service. In addition they can provide full, unique and tailored packs detailing every aspect of where and how the book can be promoted and sold. This is a new and unique development in self-publishing, a service that will cover the all-important gap between producing a book and making it a success.
Publishing Your Book – Your Expectations of Success and our Successes Many writers have different aims and expectations when publishing their books. They may publish for fun and to share with others, or to help promote their opportunities for mainstream publishing success. In all cases, it is beneficial to have realistic and practical expectations to get the most when considering publishing.
In 2007, YouWriteOn published Bufflehead Sisters by Patricia J. De Lois, one of our Book of the Year Award winners. Available only online, the novel went on to be named Book of the Year in December 2007 by leading newspaper the Press Herald, ahead of a former Pulitzer Prize winner in the author's state of Maine, which has a population of over one million. The author was stocked by bookstores with high sales and as a result received an offer of representation from a leading literary agent and two book deal from Penguin books.
That's why we're so excited to launch this unique service – one that can revolutionise the self-publishing market and offer the necessary platform to ensure the aims you have for your book are achieved.

Sara herself was extremely helpful and encouraging. It was her interest in my writing that convinced Mark Stanton, my agent to sign me up and things happened incredibly quickly after that
